Code for Sustainable Homes

MSAFE - Energy Assessments

Improving the energy efficiency of buildings

The Code for Sustainable Homes is the national standard for the sustainable design and construction of new homes. It aims to reduce carbon emissions and promote higher standards of sustainable design above the current minimum standards set out in the building regulations.

The code provides nine categories of sustainable design:

  1. Energy and CO2 emissions
  2. Water
  3. Materials
  4. Surface water runoff
  5. Waste
  6. Pollution
  7. Health and well-being
  8. Management
  9. Ecology

Each dwelling will be awarded a rating from one to six stars depending on the level required by your Local Authority.

MSAFE carry out project assessments at three stages: Pre Assessment, Design Stage and Post Construction Stage. MSAFE will provide professional advice to help factor in both mandatory and optional features to help provide a cost effective solution to your Code requirements .

We offer a complete Part L compliance package with SAP Calculations and EPCs as well as Air Tightness Testing to ensure your development is as energy efficient as possible whilst also reducing your costs. We can also carry out Ventilation Testing to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulations Part F.

Whether your residential development is semi-detached, a terrace house or a block of flats, our highly trained engineers can also carry out your Sound Insulation Testing to minimise disruption and help save you time and money.
